Kali's 9 puppies entered the world on June 25th.

She took about 7 hour to birth all 9....then she took about a 6 hour nap and has been a doting mother ever since.  Sometimes we have to force her to go outside and to eat! 

We've got 6 li'l girls and 3 boys and all are healthy and happy.

Puppy TimeLine!

Event
June 25th 9 pups born.  six females and three li'l male.
June 28th Tails and dew claws removed.  Babies and mommy are doing fine. But the owner is a bit shaken.
June 31st Some of the puppies are starting to try and stand up and two of those are trying to take shaky steps.
July 3rd Some of the pups have one or both eyes open.
July 4th All the pups are taking shaky steps and moving around the whelping box.
July 6th All pups have their eyes open.
July 7th The pups are moving around really well.  They are holding their heads up better and their are a couple that get into a corner and are trying to climb out of the box!  Holy cow they are getting big!
July 20th Pups got their first taste of real food today. You can see them pigging out here!
July 22nd Puppy pictures were put up on the Meet the Puppy page. Sorry I've been so slow but I've not been feeling well lately.
July 24th The pups are eating really well.  They are on a once a day feeding now.  Most of it seems to get in their whelping box or on them.
July 26th Oh man the pups are getting LOTS of teeth.  It seems that the sharp little daggers are more than a great mom like kali can take.  She gets in the whelping box to let them nurse but not for very long at a time.   We've already bumped up the feedings of real food to three a day.  Boy they can really put it away.  And I'm happy to report that most of it gets in their tummy!
July 27th The pups went outside for the first time and they all loved it.  They were bouncing around in the grass all happy and barking at one another.  It was quite a sight to see!
